How is Your Vibe?

Today, I want to talk about energy. And by energy, I mean the actual scientifically measurable energy that every living thing has within itself. One of the Universal Laws that address this energy is The Law of Vibration, which states that all energy is able to be interpreted based on the frequency at which it vibrates. Scientific research has proven that emotionally positive vibrations such as joy, wonder, contentment, and especially love, of course, vibrate at a very high frequency and when we are in these higher states of being our energy expands, and fills the space around us. When we are sad, or feeling down on ourselves, giving in to our inner critic, and clouding our thoughts with harsh judgments, our energy vibrates at a very low frequency and it stays small and tightly packed inside our core. Thinking about happiness in this way, in terms of energy, we can feel that openness and elation from our high vibrating frequency, can’t we! It is our life force celebrating! And when we are stressed or depressed or being too hard on ourselves, we can feel ourselves get smaller. Sometimes it can even feel like we’re invisible because our life force is vibrating at such a low frequency, and that hurts doesn’t it? Our life force, this energy, I call it the soul, and I believe it’s sacred.

A Shocking Discovery

In 1907, a doctor by the name of Douglas MC Duggal arranged to perform a rather macabre experiment, in the hopes to determine the actual weight of the energy in our body, our physical life force. This doctor found six people on the verge of death to agree to pass away while having their weight carefully monitored for this experiment. The results were almost ephemeral. Every single body, right at the moment of passing lost exactly 21 grams. It was such an astounding discovery that many people believe that 21 grams is the physical weight of our very souls. Isn’t that amazing?
So how do we treat this life force as sacred? How do we play with this energy to enliven it, enrich it, and keep it vital? There are three very powerful ways, each born of ancient wisdom, that were designed specifically to nurture our life force, or as they call it in Eastern civilizations, our Chi. The first one, perhaps you could have guessed: Yoga. But not just any yoga, flow yoga. The type of yoga that keeps your body moving fluidly is perfect for not only enlivening your life force but also putting your mind into a meditative state so you can really experience the expansion and raised vibrations of your Chi. The other two are Tai Chi and Qi Gong. Both involve intentional meditative movements designed to invite your energy to grow and thrive. There are many YouTube videos and other resources that are free to access, uncomplicated to do, and don’t take much time to complete. Pick one, and give it a good try. See if you can feel that energy moving through your body. I want you to feel that energy in your hands. I want you to feel that incredible life force that we have thriving through us. And I want to hear your comments. Write to me please, and tell me which one you chose to try and tell me about your experience. As always my friends, remember that love is Spirit, and Spirit is Love. Namaste
