Daydreaming can be Good

Has anyone in your life ever shamed you for daydreaming? Daydreaming is often equated with being lazy, or childish, or unrealistic. But the truth is, daydreaming isn’t a waste of time, and it never was. Daydreaming is actually a very powerful skill if you know how to cultivate it, and that’s what we are going to talk about in today’s eye-opening episode

Analyzing, analyzing, analyzing…Do you ever feel completely burned out by how much this world LOVES to overthink everything? We are conditioned to believe that the only way to make a life for ourselves is to grind, and compete, and outperform— And if you don’t want to be a part of the conflict and the struggle, then you must be too lazy, or too shy, or you have your head in the clouds…NOT TRUE!

The REAL waste of time is using your mind to worry, obsess, and criticize yourself as well as other people around you. These are the true creators of dissatisfaction, unhappiness, and despair. Daydreaming can bring you peace! It can bring you a moment of sweet relief. It can be used as a sacred sanctuary where your mind can retreat and regroup. All you need is to transform daydreaming into a powerful practice for manifesting a life you love.

I’m talking about the magic of Intentional Daydreaming. So what is Intentional Daydreaming? Well, usually when someone catches themselves daydreaming, an automatic response is to feel guilty about it or to criticize themselves for wasting valuable time.

If this is you, and you are beating yourself up for being a daydreamer, the first step is to STOP beating yourself up. Instead, the next time you catch yourself daydreaming, I want you to do this:

Create a simple intention for your daydream.

Are you daydreaming about love? Set the intention to attract greater love into your life.

Are you daydreaming about success in your career? Then set the intention to attract greater opportunities to advance yourself professionally.

Are you daydreaming about having your dream home? Then set the intention to attract opportunities to create your next big move!

Whatever emotional need your daydreams are fulfilling, set an intention to attract more opportunities to feel that way in your real life.

Next, set a timer.

Once you set your intention, then set a timer. Not to limit yourself, but to affirm your intention to choose this time to visualize something you really want to materialize in your life. If you treat this time like a true practice, then it will begin to yield noticeable results.

And finally, give yourself permission to feel good about yourself.

Now, this is KEY! You have your intention, and you’ve set a timer. Now your job is to sit back, relax, and go into your daydream state with permission to experience the feelings you get when you imagine these dreams have come true. Feel the love. Feel the triumph. Feel the pride. Feel the excitement. And know that those feelings are being put out into the universe as a powerful example of what you want to receive more of. Use your emotions during this time to give the Universe something amazing to say “yes” to!

When the timer goes off, you can go back to your day, but be free of the guilt, and the shame, and the embarrassment our society conditions us to feel about daydreaming. They just aren’t doing it right. If you want to learn more about how to implement this powerful technique be sure to watch the episode, and as always thank you for joining me today. Remember above all, that Love is Spirit and Spirit is Love. Namaste.
